Cancer functional genomics lab
Candidates should be highly motivated, have a background in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Physics and/or Computer Science, with STRONG INTEREST (experience is not required) in cancer. Projects in the lab use a variety of techniques including genetic screens, cell biology, molecular biology and bioinformatics.
Current ongoing projects include:
-
Identification of alternatively expressed transcripts as targets in Gastric cancer.
-
Identification and characterisation of genes associated with increased breast cancer risk.
-
Development of CRISPR based approaches for systematic studies of circular RNA function.
-
Mechanisms and strategies for targeting of β-catenin driven colon cancers.
-
PROTACs as a new molecule type for development of personalised cancer therapies.
